If you were greatly anticipating seeing the Wii U, the NextBox, AND the PS4 at E3 this year, brace yourself for disappointment because it ain't gonna happen.
Kaz Hirai quelled all such rumors by plainly saying at CES that Sony would not be presenting a new console at this year's E3. During a roundtable at the expo, Andy House, a top Sony executive, said that the PS4 would not go to E3 this year. When Hirai was asked to elaborate, he said, "Andy [House] is absolutely right in that we are not making any announcements at E3…"
Hirai further explained, "I've always said a 10-year life cycle for PS3, and there is no reason to go away from that."
So there is no need to hope. There is no vague dialogue to try to dissect and speculate. The PS4 will not be at E3 this year.
Now if it does make an appearance, I'll never believe another word from anyone at Sony about the PlayStation ever again.
