While EA has been on this whole Online Pass thing since back when it was call Project $10, the developers up in Canada who are making SSX are all like "nah, man chill out."
These cool boarders have done a total 1080 on the whole online pass thing, instead opting to just get amped, bro. Seriously, upcoming mile-high snowboarder SSX is so against the whole money, corporate, business stuff that they've taken EA's online pass in a different direction.
That's right, you can be so against online passes and money that you can just go without earning in-game credits altogether… meaning you won't be able to unlock much of the multiplayer mode. EA says you'll still be able to compete and play in "Explore" and "Global Events" but funds will be stored away until you enter your code for the online pass.
