At E3, Nintendo had a large booth with tons of 3DS units and upcoming games. Among them were Mario Karts and Super Marios and Luigis in Mansions. Along a wall was Kid Icarus: Uprising multiplayer. I grabbed a handheld and picked up a match with three other journalists.
It was messy. In my professional opinion, it was the most chaotic and difficult to understand bit of gaming at the entirety of E3. This was a very early build mind you, but I can't say it left me with a very good impression. I like to know what I'm doing, or supposed to be doing, when I play multiplayer games.
The video above from today's Nintendo Direct conference shows off a more current build of Kid Icarus: Uprising's multiplayer. I'll say that it looks a lot better, but I'm still wondering exactly where this is headed… and do I need a second circle pad?
Kid Icarus: Uprising is slated for release on March 22nd in Japan and March 23rd in America and Europe.
