Amazon Cancels Pre-orders For Dragon’s Crown

Reports on when Amazon actually delisted Dragon's Crown have been conflicting, ranging from a current occurence to one that happened months ago, but it's certain that Amazon users who have pre-ordered the title have been refunded their money. This doesn't spell well for one of my most anticipated titles for the PlayStation Vita, and one of the reasons I purchased the handheld at launch in the first place.

Now, this doesn't mean that Dragon's Crown is outright cancelled; that's certainly a possibility, though I don't think Vanillaware can afford to. Another possibility is that publisher Ignition has dropped the title or is going to be axed by Disney. If that's the case, another publisher like Atlus should be able to pick it up easily. Yet another but less worrisome cause could be that they're switching Dragon's Crown from a retail copy to a PSN-only download.

Either way, I hope Dragon's Crown sees the light of day. Not only does its 2D art style amazing and reminds me of the stunning and overwhelmingly underrated title Muramasa: The Demon Blade, but it was also supposed to have simultaneously play between four PS3 and VITA players. Most Western-styled medieval fantasy titles bore me with clichés, so this certainly woke me up. Hopefully, I won't have to cry myself back to sleep.
