Amidst the anguish of Nintendo’s short-supplied and highly sought after NES Classic Edition (a miniaturized version of its 80s Nintendo Entertainment System home console), rumors of a followup SNES Classic had already begun to circulate. Today Nintendo confirmed these rumors to be true via its Twitter, revealing a SNES Classic Edition that contains Super Mario World, Earthbound, Star Fox 2, and 18 additional classic SNES-era titles.

Notable in particular is the inclusion of Starfox 2, a title that was never formally released during the SNES era and one that makes the SNES Classic more of a must-have to collectors than perhaps it begrudgingly already was. The full list of preloaded titles planned for the device can be seen below.
- Contra III: The Alien Wars
- Donkey Kong Country
- Earthbound
- Final Fantasy III
- F-Zero
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
- Kirby’s Dream Course
- Kirby Superstar
- Mega Man X
- Secret of Mana
- Star Fox
- Star Fox 2
- Super Mario World
- Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island
- Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
- Super Mario Kart
- Super Metroid
- Super Ghouls and Ghosts
- Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
- Super Punch-Out!!
- Super Castlevania IV
Nintendo’s SNES Classic Edition will launch on 9/29, and Europe’s version will see its own unique design based on the original differences between the console across regions. It’s likely the SNES Classic Edition will become a hot and rare commodity quickly just like its predecessor, but hopefully Nintendo will up the empathy this time and at least double or triple its total supply. Whether or not the company decides to do so will certainly be telling.
