Prey, the 2017 game released by Arkane Studios, wasn’t quite the megahit many expected it to be, but that doesn’t mean Bethesda has thrown in the towel. Quite the contrary, the publisher has just announced that Prey will have a free trial on all platforms. You can see the YouTube announcement below:
There already was a free “demo” available on consoles called “Beginning Hour,” but not only will this now be on PC, but it will be a true “trial,” rather than a demo, meaning your progress will carry over should you choose to buy the game.
The console shift to a trial and the PC version of Prey will be available later today. If you simply have a regular PS4, we’d recommend trying it on PC instead, as loading times on the PS4 are minutes-long in between levels, which can make the late game feel like a slog.
