Quake Champions Enters Early Access This Month

Looking for another way to cause some absolute chaos on the battlefield? You’ll want to get in on the riotous shooter that is Quake Champions, a multiplayer darling that’s exiting its Closed beta phase to enter Early Access via Steam as of August 22.

As the game begins its Early Access phase, it will contain new features, maps, and a brand new Champion as well: the DOOM Slayer from Bethesda’s excellent shooter, DOOM.

There will be a Champions Pack available for new players looking to jump right into the game, and it will unlock all Champions currently available as well as those releasing in the future. It’ll include additional bonus content as well for $29.99, which is 25% off what the final retail version will cost, $39.99.

To recap, it will come with two new maps in the form of the Church of Azathoth and Tempest Shrine, the DOOM Slayer, new Rune Challenges, a Lore system with 10 Lore Items scattered throughout Arenas, customization options and more.

The Champions Pack will grant entry to the Early Access mode for new players, but if you had already been a part of the Closed Beta, you’ll get to keep playing the game in free-to-play mode. You’ll be able to play the game on the same servers as those with Champions Packs, and you can then choose to upgrade from there.

You’ve only got a few days left to wait until you can jump right in, so you might want to get those trigger fingers ready.
