Super Mario Odyssey Cleans House at Gamescom Awards with 5 Category Wins

As Gamescom heads toward its final day, judges have convened to chat about what the best games are at the show. This year there are more than two dozen categories that range from platform to genre specific awards.

With over 500 games on the show floor, choosing selectively wasn’t necessarily easy. But at the end of the day, Nintendo walked away with a huge victory, as Super Mario Odyssey won in five categories, one of which was the prestigious Best of Gamescom 2017 award.

Other highlights include Middle-earth: Shadow of War and and Destiny 2, both of which won more than a single award.
