Friday the 13th: The Game Will Get a New Game Mode

If there’s one thing the developers of Friday the 13th: The Game have been criticized for the most, it’s a lack of communication. While that certainly doesn’t seem to be a fair observation, given all the times they have communicated, the criticism exists anyhow. That might change, with the developers reaching the first of many video developer diaries, logging all the things they’re working on and giving players an insight into what that actually means.

In this developer diary, David Langeliers, Creative Manager for Illfonic, revealed that “We have been working on a new game mode. I don’t want to give too many details on this point, but that should be coming soon.”

Of course, this is very vague, but it’s just a small part of Friday the 13th: The Game‘s aggressive expansion. Still in the works is a new playable Jason, new counselors, a new 1980s Swimsuit clothing pack, including bikins and speedos, smaller versions of already-existing maps that offer a faster-paced experience, free emote DLC, dedicated servers on consoles, and, of course, the long-awaited single-player campaign that puts you in the shoes of Jason against A.I. counselors.

We don’t have exact dates on any of these things, but these developer diaries will help keep the community from growing restless. In the mean time, the already-great game of Friday the 13th is about to get even better.
