Call of Duty WW2 Campaign Length Revealed

Call of Duty WW2’s singleplayer campaign clocks in at just over six hours long, according to those that have already completed the game.

Several gamers have got their hands on the FPS early, including GameSpot’s Miguel Concepcion who reports that his exact time stands at six hours and 23 minutes. In comparison, last year’s Infinite Warfare had a campaign that lasted on average around seven hours (via HLTB), 2015’s Black Ops III had a length of around eight hours, and Sledgehammer Game’s last Call of Duty title, Advanced Warfare, had a campaign with a length of just over seven hours.

Call of Duty WW2 brings the series back to its roots with a World War II-focused storyline revolving around a four-man squad. In it, you play as Private Ronald Daniels – aka Red – alongside his best friend Zussman, the strict rule-following Pierson, and their commanding officer Turner.

The story in Call of Duty WW2 is centered around the squad as they fight in various battles across the Western Front, primarily focusing on the war from the point in which the United States joined it in 1944, up until its conclusion in 1945. You will experience iconic battles from across the war, including D-Day, Liberation of Paris and Battle of the Bulge.

Though the campaign has you primarily playing as Private Red and his best friend Zussman, there are other confirmed characters that you will occasionally play as that will fill in the gaps between 1940 and D-Day in 1944. Like previous entries in the series, many of the characters in Call of Duty WW2 are voiced by well-known celebrities such as David Tennant, Josh Duhamel and Le’Veon Bell.

If the campaign length of just over six hours isn’t enough for you, the first expansion DLC has already been announced for release in January next year. Called ‘The Resistance,’ it will expand upon Call of Duty WW2‘s base content first on PS4 before coming to Xbox One and PC a month later.

Opinion: Roughly six and a half hours is just what I expected from Call of Duty WW2 based on the previous games. I’m mainly hoping that it takes a page from Battlefield 1’s campaign and includes well-paced, exciting snippets of different storylines from across the Western Front of the war.
