Report: Dark Souls Remastered Switch to Be Announced During Today’s Nintendo Direct

Dark Souls Remastered is reportedly set to be announced today during a Nintendo Direct Mini, that will air shortly following a Nintendo Direct presentation.

The game is allegedly set to launch on the Switch, PS4 and Xbox One and PC, with Kotaku claiming that it will first be announced for Switch in the Nintendo Direct Mini, before it will later be confirmed for other consoles and the PC.

According to the report, the Switch port will be developed by a different team than the PS4, Xbox One and PC ports, with the latter versions of the game featuring “rebuilt lighting and SFX based on Dark Souls 3.” The game will also feature multiplayer support for up to six concurrent players.

Bandai Namco is allegedly looking to bring Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3 to the Switch eventually, though there are no plans to release a trilogy collection. According to the publisher of the report, Laura Kate Dale, Nintendo of America’s tweet yesterday depicting Chibi Robo on fire may have been a reference to Dark Souls, given the visual similarities:

Nintendo hasn’t confirmed whether or not a Nintendo Direct will air today, but Kotaku seems pretty confident in its report. Laura Kate Dale has also claimed that the Nintendo Direct will air in the “next 2-3 hours,” so we won’t have long to find out.
