Nintendo has been holding out on us, but they're almost ready to announce the final launch details like pricing and game line-up, according to a new rumor.
Kotaku is reporting that Nintendo is holding a press event in NYC on September 13th, hosted by Reggie Fils-Aime, where the firm is likely to announce launch pricing and other details on the Wii U.
While Nintendo hasn't explicitly said that launch details will be revealed, they are promising "more about how the Wii U will change the future of gaming and entertainment". However, traditionally, Nintendo hosts most of their final launch annoucements for upcoming hardware in NYC-based press events. Much like they did with the Wii in September 2006 and the 3DS in January 2011—each event about two months ahead of the actual release date of each product.
In related news, Video Product Distributors—distributor to sites like Amazon and Newegg—has reportedly leaked the Wii U launch date, pricing, and bundle availability ahead of Nintendo's event.
The company's site had the Wii U listed for a November 11th release date, priced at $249.99. It also listed two additional Wii U bundles, but didn't go on to specify what was included in each bundle. One bundle was listed at $299.99, another for $349.99.
