Detroit Become Human Release Date Announced

Quantic Dream has announced an official release date for its upcoming game Detroit Become Human. It will launch on May 25th, 2018. Just like Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls before it, Detroit Become Human is a cinematic and interactive action adventure game. Featuring a neo-noir thriller, players will control three different android characters who face the threat of persecution and violence by society, a majority of whom are human beings.

Set in a dystopia in the near future, the three android protagonists featured in Detroit Become Human include Connor; a prototype designed to help human investigators on cases involving androids, Kara; a fugitive who empathizes with a little girl’s dream of freedom and Markus; the leader of the android revolution.

Quantic Dream director David Cage says via PlayStation Blog that Detroit Become Human is the developer’s most ambitious game to date. Player’s actions have real consequences and there will be entire scenes that they can see or miss as a result of those earlier actions. The fate of the three androids lay in the hands of players, as their choices will dictate whether the androids live or die at any time.

Each and every story is said to be unique according to the choices made by players, be they minor or important ones. At its core, Detroit Become Human explores not only artificial intelligence and the role of technology, but also about human society and its dreams, hopes, and mistakes.

For Detroit Become Human, Quantic Dream has developed the most “spectacular 3D engine” that it has ever built. This engine pushes the limits of what the PS4 can do, featuring hundreds of realistic characters with full motion capture.

Published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Detroit Become Human will be released exclusively for the PS4 on May 25th, 2018. It was initially announced at a Sony press conference during Paris Games Week in October 2015.
