Agony

Agony Delayed Indefinitely With No New Release Date

Madmind Studio’s debut survival horror title Agony was originally slated for a March 30, 2018 release date. However, it has now been delayed indefinitely with no new release date or window announced. The developer revealed the news via an update on the game’s Kickstarter page. The purpose of this delay is because the developer intends to polish the game even further before releasing it, stating that they wish to provide the best possible experience to players across every platform.

In the very same update post, Madmind Studio announced the list of every supported language in Agony at when it launches, including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Polish, Turkish and Portuguese. That might already be a lot but the developer also stated that it’s possible for more languages to be added to the game in the future.

Additionally, Agony‘s Kickstarter page shows that the initial pledged goal of CA$ 66,666 has already been accomplished and surpassed since December 2016. It’s also stated that the original estimated release date was in May 2017 before being given a more definitive release date of March 30, 2018.

Agony is a first-person survival horror game, where players will assume the role of a tormented soul within the depths of hell without any memories of his past. Throughout their journey, they will need to survive the horrible conditions of hell by using their special ability to control people and possess demons.

The studio aims to return to the “roots of horror” with Agony. “To induce anxiety, fear, and shivers on your back, you can’t rely only on well-known images, but you must reach deep into your own mind and get rid of the limitations, drawing inspiration from there,” Madmind Studio CEO Tomasz Dutkiewicz said. “This is is the only way to reach the deep-seated fear of death and suffering, and Agony will draw inspiration mainly from this place.”

Agony will be powered by Unreal Engine 4 and published by PlayWay. It will be released for the PS4, Xbox One and PC at an unspecified release date.
