Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass Announced With Teaser Trailer

It’s been a while since we had a Serious Sam game. The last mainline game was Serious Sam 3: BFE, which was released over seven years ago. Several Serious Sam VR games have also been released since last year. Now developer Croteam and publisher Devolver Digital have officially announced Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass.

In a news post on its official site, Croteam revealed that “the time is finally right” to announce the latest game in the Serious Sam franchise. Aside from a teaser trailer, no specific details have been revealed regarding the game. The developer said that the “full reveal will happen at the Devolver Digital E3 conference, this June in LA.”

That means we still have at least two months left with only a teaser trailer to tide us over. Croteam also suggested players to wishlist the game on Steam in order to receive all the latest updates and information as soon as possible. The only piece of information about the game on its Steam page is that it will feature “the world-renowned signature Serious Sam gameplay on a brutally bigger scale, and not a single desert level.”

The developer has not confirmed any platforms for the upcoming game yet, but the Steam listing at least confirms a PC version of Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass. It’s safe to assume that the game will also presumably arrive on the PS4 and Xbox One as well.

The teaser trailer looks like it runs on the in-game Serious Sam engine. It shows Sam riding a motorcycle through a lush landscape, which might mean that the game will feature an open-world setting. The logo for the game also curiously depicts eight other people standing around Sam, which might allude to the inclusion of a multiplayer element in the game.
