I don't know about you, but I couldn't really give a shit about Agent 47's back story. Aliens, clones, alien clones? I can't keep up! There probably aren't any aliens in the games, but for all I know, there could be!
IO Interactive wants to change this attitude in Hitman: Absolution and they're aiming to do so with more cinematic flair, tons of cutscenes, hollywood actors, and highly technical motion capture equipment. Game Director Tore Blystad says in the trailer above that "in a game like Hitman where there is so much gameplay, there's so much within the game mechanics to challenge the players, the cutscenes become a break between those challenging gameplay moments."
I don't think IO has any trouble creating interesting, funny, or involving characters. It seems like nothing is sacred when it comes to NPCs, so I'm interested in seeing the way Agent 47 weaves his way through the total lack of sanity around him.
Hitman: Absolution is coming to Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on November 20th. Square Enix is offering up a free game download, the Hitman Sniper Challenge, to anyone willing to preorder ahead of that release date.
