Game of Thrones Composer Plays Theme on the Nintendo Labo

Be careful Game of Thrones fans, winter is coming. That’s right, ever since the Nintendo Labo’s release, there has been non-stop videos of different music being played by creative individuals on the Nintendo Labo keyboard. It’s been a heartwarming, not to mention exciting, thing to watch.

Last week it was Ariana Grande, this week it’s Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi. Djawadi is best known for his work for HBO, but he has also made beautiful, stunning pieces for films and tv shows such as Clash of the Titans, Pacific Rim, Person of Interest and Westworld. Djawadi was also the brains behind the soundtrack of the video game turned film, Warcraft.

In the tweet below (via IGN España), you can watch Ramin Djawadi playing the Game of Throne’s theme tune on the piano included as part of the Nintendo Labo Variety kit. Even though Djawadi is a master composer, we can’t help but be impressed that he’s managed to recreate the theme tune that’s become so well known with only the basics of the Nintendo Labo Variety kit.

Now, as mentioned in the video, this was the very first time that Djawadi had ever seen the Nintendo Labo. So the results of him just tinkering around (with a little help from the IGN crew) was nothing short of phenomenal. First came the baseline, then the melody and then he finished it all off by including the drums.

The results are enough to make you wonder what the Nintendo Labo’s keyboard can’t play. Should we expect John Williams to appear with his own Labo version of the Star Wars theme anytime soon, or is that just wishful thinking?
