When we first got wind that Call of Duty would be coming the the PlayStation Vita, I think everyone on the GR staff was pretty interested at the potential a game like that could hold. Unfortunately, it became readily clear that Black Ops Declassified wouldn't be revolutionizing the portable market when it was revealed that Nihilistic Software would be at the helm.
Nihilistic, the same team behind Resistance: Burning Skies, doesn't have the best track record in the world, and Declassified doesn't appear to be the big turnaround game they desperately needed, so the studio has decided to step away from the retail biz and focus on the digital market.
To go along with this new focus, the studio's rebranding itself nStigate Games. The company announced the news on Twitter, saying: "Sad to announce Nihilistic will be exiting boxed game development & re-forming as new company for digital/online." If you head over to their official website, you can read up on exactly why the studio has opted for this change in direction. At this point though, I'm sure it's pretty obvious.
