Life Is Strange Android Release Date Revealed

Life Is Strange is finally coming out for Android smartphones, as Square Enix has announced that all five episodes of the critically-acclaimed graphic adventure game will be released this coming July. Those interested can pre-register on the Google Play Store to receive an update once the game is available for purchase.

Life Is Strange follows the coming-of-age story of 18-year-old photography student Max Caulfied as she discovers that she has the ability to rewind time. With her childhood best friend Chloe Price, the duo tries to uncover the mystery behind the disappearance of fellow student Rachel Amber.

Originally released back in 2015 for PC on Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, Life Is Strange went on to be nominated and win several game awards during the next couple of years. The game has since been released on other platforms. A prequel, Before the Storm, was released just last year and a sequel already in development.

While the original release was developed by DONTNOD Entertainment, the mobile release of Life Is Strange was ported by Black Wing Foundation. That includes both the iOS version, which was released late last year, and the upcoming Android version. The latter was originally slated for an early 2018 release but was delayed for unannounced reasons.

Much like the previously released iOS version, the Android version of Life Is Strange will feature a new UI for full touchscreen integration, the ability to share and compare your progress on social media, and an in-game photo mode.  Full controller support will also be available, which will allow players to control the game with Bluetooth controllers.

Pricing for Life Is Strange on Android has yet to be announced but the iOS version of the game was priced at $2.99 for individual episodes and $8.99 for the entire five-episode series so we might see similar pricing for the Android version.
