In one of the big surprises of the Microsoft conference, Jump Force, a game featuring characters from DBZ, One Piece, Naruto, and possibly more was shown for the first time at E3 2018. We didn’t get to see any gameplay, but the trailer was enough to get any anime fan pumped up.
Jump Force was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Weekly Jump Magazine. This shonen manga anthology is where a ton of fan favorite series got their starts. The game will merge the Jump World and the Real World in a unique way, and the fate of humanity will hang in the balance. We know Goku, Monkey D. Luffy, and Naruto will be in the game and it seems like Freiza might be part of whatever villainous force is threatening the world.
There will be other anime and manga guest stars in Jump Force as well, though the full list isn’t known yet. Bandai Namco states that it’s trying to bring the characters to life with a more realistic design to showcase the fact that game takes place in the real world. The graphics already look great from what we’ve seen and they should look even better on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro.
There’s no official release date yet for Jump Force, but we do know it’ll drop sometime in 2019.
