Valkyria Chronicles 4 will be releasing on September 25, 2018, in North America and Europe for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 25, 2018, according to an announcement by publisher SEGA.
Those who pre-order or purchase a first-run physical copy of the game in North America will get the “Launch Edition” which comes with a limited, exclusive controller skin featuring Ragnarok the medic dog. As for those who get the “Launch Edition” in Europe, they’ll get a sticker of Ragnarok the Medic doc instead.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 will also be available in a “Memoirs of Battle” premium edition which will come with several physical and in-game bonuses such as a limited “Hafen” Tank Vinyl Statue, a 100-page “Claude’s Travel Journal” themed artbook, and a pair of DLC adventures featuring the members of Squad 7. Both DLC adventures – “A United Front with Squad 7” and “Edy’s Advance Ops” – will be available at launch.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 is set in the same timeframe as the original game but will feature a whole new set of main characters from Squad E. The game will feature the same “BLiTZ” battle system as the previous games, which combines turn-based strategy, RPG elements, and real-time third-person shooting. It will also introduce new features such as a new Grenadier class, larger maps allowing for more units, new offensive and defensive battleship support options, a new “Last Stand” action before death, and more.
The game still features the same hand-drawn visual style as the previous games but with a new, overhauled CANVAS Graphics Engine that brings the games aesthetics in line with the current generation of platforms. Additionally, original Valkyria Chronicles composer Hitoshi Sakimoto will once again provide the score for this new title.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 is scheduled for release in North America and Europe on September 25, 2018, for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
