The writing was on the wall this past September, but things are now official according to the TV Guide–G4 has canceled their gaming programming. Both X-Play and Attack of the Show are canceled, with their final episodes airing in December.
As was originally rumored, G4 is getting rebranded into a more "upscale, sophisticated" channel for men, mainly with GQ magazine in mind.
As of now, there is no official word how this will affect the gaming portion of G4TV.com, but it would surprise no one if that gaming center was shut down along with the TV shows. The TV shows have been on a steady decline since Adam Sessler's and Kevin Pereira's departures earlier this year.
While this news isn't unexpected, it's still rather sad to see the end of the G4TV gaming era, and it's even sadder to see so many people lose their jobs.
