Redbox Carrying Video Games Nationwide In June

What's your convenience store of choice? Where I used to live, 7-Eleven was the nearest store carrying Pop-Tarts and open at midnight. Now the nearest merchant of convenience is a Circle K. Neither of them had Redbox standing outside, though.

Now I'll have to go to the grocery store to rent a game in June. Redbox announced today that they'll begin carrying video games for rental at 21,000 locations nationwide. New video games will run you $2 a day, compared to $1 for DVDs and $1.50 for Blu-ray rentals.

It's true that video games have been available at some Redbox locations as a test for this nationwide push:

Redbox will increase consumers' access to video game rentals by leveraging our incredible technology and business model to keep rental prices low for consumers. With more than 21,000 redbox locations slated to feature video game rentals alongside movies this June, redbox will be the one-stop shop for entertainment.

While I agree that it'll be a lot easier to rent a game or movie when it's right in the front of the grocery store, I think the internet will continue to hold the title of "one-stop shop for entertainment". Do you have a Redbox near you? If you do, are you sticking with GameFly?
