Yakuza Kiwami Demo Kiryu

Yakuza Kiwami 2 Demo Available Now on PS4

The Yakuza Kiwami 2 demo is out for PS4 now, just in time to get players salivating before the official launch at the end of August. The Yakuza Kiwami 2 demo will give players a taste of what Sotenbori has to offer this time around with a solid slice of gameplay, including the many minigames the series is famous for.

Like in Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami 2 takes place in both Kamurocho, Tokyo, and Sotenbori, Osaka, and as a new addition will show what happened to Majima Goro between Yakuza and Yakuza 2. You can play Golf, sing Karaoke, and throw some darts in the demo as well as get a nice little teaser chunk of the story.

This time around Sega hasn’t accidentally included the full game, though, so you won’t be able to glitch yourself through the whole story. However, if you like what you see in the demo you can pre-order the Yakuza Kiwami 2 digital special edition which some extra DLC goodies, including:

  • Demonfire Blade
  • Cabaret Hostess Ono Michiyo (possibly a Yakuza 6 easter egg)
  • Jo Amon Rare Clan Card
  • Sotaro Komaki Rare Clan Card
  • The Comedian Suit Outfit
  • One Million Yen Bonus Cash

Those who pre-order on PSN can get an exclusive Yakuza Kiwami 2 Dragons theme.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 is built in the Dragon Engine, just like Yakuza 6 so you can look forward to a seamless experience when entering fights and buildings. If you haven’t played a Yakuza game before, you’ve still got time before Kiwami 2 releases on August 28. A PC version of Yakuza 0 (arguably the best in the series) will be available on August 1 which will be perfect for either getting into or revisiting the series.

The Yakuza series is absolutely fantastic, and you should check it out immediately if you’ve never played. I mean right now. If you’re at work, just go ahead and leave and get yourself a copy of Yakuza 0. You’ll thank me later.
