Soul Calibur 6 Voldo Gameplay

Soul Calibur 6 Voldo Gameplay Trailer Showcases His Return

A leaked Soul Calibur 6 Voldo gameplay trailer has revealed the official return of the weird and unique fighter. The so-called “Hell Guardian” is back with his deadly weapon of choice, the dual hand katars Manas and Ayus. The inclusion of Voldo in the upcoming installment of the iconic fighting game franchise isn’t surprising, considering that he has been in almost every single game since the original Soul Edge in 1995. Only one game in the long-running franchise failed to include him and that was Soul Calibur Legends, which was released for the Nintendo Wii in 2007.

Bandai Namco Entertainment hasn’t actually released the official Soul Calibur 6 Voldo gameplay trailer. Instead, it was leaked by YouTube user Izuniy earlier today. That’s been the case for the past several Soul Calibur 6 character reveals, as they were leaked before the developer could officially announce them. It could be a deliberate marketing plot at this point, but who knows.

The leaked Soul Calibur 6 Voldo gameplay trailer showcases the myriad moves and attacks that the character is known for. That includes the highly flexible moves that Voldo can pull of, twisting his body in unnatural ways and even attacking while lying down. This made him one of my favorite characters to use in 2005’s Soul Calibur 3 for the PS2, much to the annoyance of my opponents. His unpredictable attacks made him unique compared to other fighters.

Voldo joins the expanding roster of Soul Calibur 6 alongside Ivy, Zasalamel, Groh, Kilik, Xianghua, Mitsurugi, Nightmare, Siegfried, Taki, Sophitia, Talim and guest character Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Soul Calibur 6 is slated to be released for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 19, 2018. In the meantime, check out our hands-on preview of the game at a recent event held by Bandai Namco earlier this month, and take a look at the Voldo gameplay trailer below.
