The fantastical Bandai Namco JRPG sequel, Ni No Kuni 2 is set to receive three lots of DLC expansions. The first of the Ni No Kuni 2 DLC is completely free. The Ni No Kuni 2 Adventure Pack will release on PC and PS4 on August 9th. Bandai Namco sure is spoiling us with this free DLC, too. It adds quite a lot.
The Adventure Pack brings with it a sizeable chunk of new content. New floors will be added to Broadleaf’s Faraway Forest, for example. The full list of new additions in The Adventure Pack can be found below:
- New Floors for Broadleaf’s Faraway Forest
- Two new bosses: Blackhart and Zeta
- New costumes
- New quests with special rewards
That’s a solid amount of new content for a free slice of DLC. The second slice of Ni No Kuni 2 DLC pie is “coming this winter.” We’ll know more about the second DLC later this year, but we do know that it will feature a whole new dungeon to explore. Bandai Namco promises a difficult time with this one. We’ll “face a series of difficult challenges and powerful enemies”. Sounds good to us. But wait, there’s more. Not content with two packs of DLC, however, Bandai Namco are giving us three.
The third piece of Ni No Kuni 2 DLC is scheduled to release “early next year.” The third Ni No Kuni 2 DLC sounds good, although we’ll have to wait to learn more. “A third DLC is planned for early next year with new exciting content and game features, as well as a whole new story expansion.” Saving the best till last, the third slice of the delicious Ni No Kuni 2 DLC pie sounds great. A whole new story? Count us in.
Ni No Kuni 2 has proved a great success for Bandai Namco, with sales nearing 1 million. We found the game to be a solid one in our review, transporting us back to our childhood. Despite this, we did find it somewhat flawed.
