Ghost Recon Wildlands Year 2 Update Roadmap Lays Out Rough Patch Schedule

As is the case with a handful of other Ubisoft games such as For Honor and Rainbow Six Siege, Ghost Recon Wildlands is still going strong long after its initial release. The publisher revealed its plan for the second year of updates a few months but gave more details in a post on their forums today. The Ghost Recon Wildlands Year 2 roadmap reveals that the Operations and Maintenance update will come out in late September, Special Operations 3 will drop in December, and Special Operations 4 is slated to hit in Q1 2019.

The Operations and Maintenance update, as described in the post, coming next month will be packed with bug fixes pointed out by the community. Ubisoft is still working on fixing the glitches, which is why the update doesn’t have a specific release date attached to it. While this Operations and Maintenance update smaller in scope, it is similar to the Operation Health update in Rainbow Six Siege where Ubisoft focused on fixing issues in the game over adding a ton of new content. It’s a sort of spring cleaning, albeit in late summer.

Special Operations 3 will come out in December. It will include a special theme with a free PVE mission, PVE and PVP content, and features requested by the community. This is very similar featureset to the other Special Operations updates in the past.

The Ghost Recon Wildlands Year 2 update concludes with Special Operations 4, which will have… something. Ubisoft has not given any hints about it other than its early 2019 release window. However, given the pattern started by the other Special Operations, it will most likely contain more modes, missions, or community-requested features.

Ubisoft is also releasing a hotfix on consoles on August 6, which will contain the same bug fixes as the update that just went live on PC. The publisher also stated that it heard the complaints about the Year 2 Pass not having enough value and is looking into correcting that issue, but did not give any further details. The Year 2 Pass currently holds early access to the six Year 2 classes in PVP, eight Battle Crates, and the Splinter Cell-themed equipment pack.
