Sledgehammer Hiring For Work On Current-Gen Call of Duty Title

Call of Duty: Black Ops II hasn't even been out an entire week and we're already hearing about the next installment in Activision's mega-popular franchise. It looks like Sledgehammer Games is in search of a "Senior Environment Artist" to work for them as they create the next Call of Duty title.

“We are actively recruiting top talent for our Call of Duty development team. If you are passionate and driven to do your best work, and have a desire to work on the most successful FPS franchise in the history of video games, please apply online,” the post on Gamasutra reads.

Whether or not it will be Modern Warfare 4 remains to be seen, but one thing is for certain, the game will be coming to both the PS3 and Xbox 360, as the listing goes on to say that the applicant "will insure that the level works on all relevant platforms, Xbox 360, PS3.”

The fact that the next entry in the series is coming to current-gen platforms shouldn't come as all too much of a shock considering how large the install base currently is and will be a year from now. The real question is whether or not the game is being developed with the next Xbox and PlayStation in mind, should the new platforms be released this time next year. What do you think? Will be see next-gen versions as well? Let us know in the comments below.
