You might notice a button on the upper-right corner of Steam that says Big Picture. Click it for a surprise.
Today marks the official launch of Big Picture on Steam. Unsurprisingly, it's free and already integrated into your client without a download of sorts.
So what is Big Picture, you ask? Well, basically it's software that optimizes Steam for the living room. In other words, it's focused on gaming via television. Using an HDMI cable to connect your PC to a T.V. set, Big Picture transforms the entire Steam experience into a user and controller-friendly state.
Speaking of which, 30 games are already available that include controller integration. To celebrate Big Picture's debut, Valve is offering a variety of supported games at reduced prices. You can pick up Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for $7.49, Left 4 Dead 2 for $4.99, and a long list of other killer titles.
Now that the cement as been laid, don't be surprised when Valve's rumored console is announced. I know I won't.
