Capcom Lowers Sales Projections To Accomodate Poor RE6 Sales And Monster Hunter 4 Delay

While the latest entry in Capcom's popular horror franchise started off strong, it didn't take long for sales to plummet, as the overall performance of Resident Evil 6 has failed to live up to the publisher's expectations. Couple that with the fact that Monster Hunter 4 has been delayed, and you've got one underwhelming financial year for Capcom.

As such, the company has been forced to lower sales projections for the fiscal year ending March 31st. The initial projection was 105,000 million yen, which has since been lowered to 93,500 million, marking an 11% decrease.

“Sales of the major new title Resident Evil 6 were initially strong, but subsequently weakened. As a result, sales for this title are certain to fall short of the plan,” Capcom explained in its financial report. The publisher also discussed Monster Hunter 4's delay, saying that the extra time will allow the studio to “Further raise the quality of the game.”
