The first batch of Shadow of the Tomb Raider DLC has been revealed. Entitled “The Forge,” the first of seven new adventures for Lara Croft has been unveiled by publisher Square Enix. The Forge DLC pack is due to land on November 13, and will be available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Season pass holders will be able to download the content for free, but other users will have to pay a small amount to play it.
Square Enix published an official press release about the Shadow of the Tomb Raider DLC on its website on Friday. The Forge DLC sees Lara tackle a lava-flooded tomb, that was once home to the fallen gods, in an area of Kuwaq Yaku. Square Enix’s statement goes on to reveal more about what players can expect when the DLC drops, including the option to play solo or in a co-op mode.
“Throughout her journey, she will uncover details about a friend’s ancient legacy, and overcome a danger long thought to be lost in flame,” Square’s statement read. “The Forge delivers a brand-new challenge tomb, playable in both solo and co-op. Players who complete the challenge tomb will be rewarded with the Grenadier skill, Brocken outfit, and Umbrage 3-80 weapon.”
The Forge is the first in a series of monthly DLC installments from Square Enix, as well as developers Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal. The trio promises to continue adding fresh content to Shadow of the Tomb Raider, with new challenges, tombs, weapons, and skins to unlock. The Forge will come complete with Score Attack and Time Attack modes too, should players wish to pit themselves against friends or the wider community.
Gamers can buy the Shadow of the Tomb Raider Season Pass now for $24.99 to ensure that they can get all seven DLC packs. Alternatively, players can shell out $4.99 solely for The Forge DLC addition.
