Kingdom Hearts The Story So Far Release Date Announced

Square Enix has announced Kingdom Hearts The Story So Far. The game includes every Kingdom Hearts game released to date, with an eye to remind people of the series’ convoluted story before jumping into next year’s Kingdom Hearts 3. As of writing, Kingdom Hearts The Story So Far has only been confirmed for PS4, with an October 30, 2018 release date.

It’s quite normal for Square Enix to release selections of Kingdom Hearts games together. Never before, however, has Square Enix released all of them in one neat little package. This is all about to change. Kingdom Hearts The Story So Far has every single Kingdom Hearts game on one disc. That’s eight games and one film in total. The full list of games (and film) in The Story So Far can be seen below:

  • Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts ReChain of Memories
  • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
  • Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final mix
  • Kingdom Hearts ReCoded
  • Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD
  • Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep -A Fragmentary Passage-
  • Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover (Film)

Essentially, Kingdom Hearts The Story So Far boxes together the Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+3.5 ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue packages. As with both of those releases, everything in The Story So Far has been ported in HD, so even those DS games should look fine on your big screen. What’s more, it only has an MSRP of $39.99. The box art can be seen below if you’re so inclined:

While The Story So Far is releasing on PS4, Kingdom Hearts 3 is due to release on PS4 and Xbox One on January 19, 2018. It brings the worlds of Toy Story, Pirates of the Caribbean, Monster’s Inc, Wreck It Ralph, and Frozen to the series’ long list of Disney areas and characters.
