The official Gundam Build Divers English Dub has been announced. This news was revealed officially by Sunrise, the animation company behind the series. The latest entry into the Gundam franchise originally aired earlier this year. As of writing, there is no news on when this release of the anime will be available to watch.
Sunrise has said that it will be collaborating with Bang Zoom! Entertainment on the Gundam Build Divers English dub. In addition to this, news about the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative series was unveiled at the company’s New York Comic Con panel. The first 20 minutes of the show will premiere in North America for the first time at Anime NYC, which will be held from November 16 to 18.
The staff for the anime has also stated that they will try to release it as close to the Japanese November 20 release in the U.S. The newest entry to the franchise will be set at the furthest point in the main Gundam universe’s timeline. This means that it is set in the same universe and history as the original Gundam anime from 1979.
Gundam Build Divers is the latest part of the Gundam Build Fighters sub-franchise. In the universe of the series, special particles that can move plastic independent of human contact have been discovered. Therefore, the world has reacted to this by creating a new sport where players build their own Gundam models and fight against each other in mock battles using this special particle.
Build Divers instead takes the route of introducing an MMO of this sport. The characters use VR headsets to enter the online world of Gunpla Battle Nexus Online. There they make their own custom characters and use their unique plastic models to fight to be the best gamer.
The Gundam franchise began in 1979 with Mobile Suit Gundam. It will be celebrating its 40th anniversary next year.
