Konami always puts on a great show at E3. Most of the time, they pack respected members of the press into a tiny theater within the Los Angeles Convention Center, where they take the stage to announce new titles and reveal strategy for already announced titles.
This year, however, the publisher is planning some major pre-E3 announcements and "never-before-seen game trailers". The event will take place on June 2nd, and Konami will host a number of live viewings across the globe. So far, Konami has said the viewings will take place in the following cities, with more to be revealed in the coming weeks:
- San Francisco
- Los Angeles
- Toronto
- Sao Paulo
- Mexico City
- New York City
Additionally, the event will be live-streamed across the web. We're actively working with Konami to host the event live on GR.
This is very out of the ordinary for Konami, which could mean some major announcements from the publisher. Could we see a proper Metal Gear Solid 5 announcement? Hideo Kojima is rumored to be working on two new titles, in addition to overseeing the development of Metal Gear Solid: Rising.
We'll be sure to let you know if we hear anything else. One thing is for sure, this is going to be the biggest E3 ever.
