Black Ops 4 Day One Patch

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Day One Patch is 50 GB

Activision has announced that the Call of Duty Black Ops 4 day one patch will be 50 GB in size. The company has revealed this only a few short days before the game’s release. This unprecedented day one patch has also led to some retailers to release the game earlier than its October 12 launch date.

On Activision’s support site, the company has revealed that the Black Ops 4 day one patch will be 50 GB. The site continues to state that the overall installation footprint will be 55 GB. In addition to this, the company suggests that fans should have “112 GB of free hard drive space – note that this is not the size of the download, it is the amount of space required to complete the installation process.” In addition to this, the full installation must be completed in order to access “Multiplayer, Zombies, and Specialist Headquarters.”

However, the Blackout battle royale mode will be available once the install is at around 30% complete. This day one patch applies to all physical and digital versions of the game and it will not be functional without it.

UK retailer GAME, in reaction to this news, will now be launching the game early. Many Twitter accounts for local stores of the company have revealed that they will be releasing the game on October 11 from 6 PM GMT. However, this does not mean that people who have bought the game early will get early access. They simply will have enough time to download the day one patch and start playing the game when it unlocks at midnight in the UK. Early purchasers will in no way have an advantage over those who will get the game late. Kotaku UK has also confirmed that Amazon UK has began an early dispatch for the game as well. There is currently no news whether any US retailers will do something similar.
