It seems that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 hardcore mode players are getting booted from matches over their use of razor wire. The latest entry in the Call of Duty: Black Ops series has been out for less than 24 hours, but users are finding big issues with some elements of it. Chief among those is players using razor wire in hardcore mode, and getting dropped from matches as a result.
The news comes courtesy of VG247, who have reported that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 players are becoming frustrated at this odd bug. In hardcore mode, friendly fire is turned on and players can be killed with a single shot to the head or heart. The problem with razor wire, though, shouldn’t factor into this — unless you take your unaware teammates into account.
Some players have begun dropping reels of razor wire in bottle necks and doorways for their enemies to walk through. This would take them down, and allow Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 players to take their opponents out systematically. However, some users are finding that their teammates are running through their razor wire, to get at the enemy, and being killed in the process. This, in turn, is causing players to be inexplicably dropped from matches they’re already in. It’s an issue that some players have become aggravated by, and they have made developer Treyarch aware of the problem.
Treyarch hasn’t commented on the issue, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see a routine patch drop in the next few days to fix this problem. Other issues have been found by players all day, so an update should be incoming soon. For now, it’s best not to use razor wire in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4‘s hardcore mode. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
