Resident Evil 4 Switch Announced Alongside 0, and More

Capcom has confirmed that it is making Resident Evil 4 Switch a reality. As if that wasn’t enough, Capcom has also confirmed that it is bringing Resident Evil 0, and the original Resident Evil to Nintendo Switch. The three classic horror games will be releasing on Switch sometime in 2019, unfortunately, that is all we know.

Capcom took to Twitter to announce the Resident Evil 4 Switch port alongside Resident Evil and 0. “Capcom is bringing multiple fan favorites to Nintendo Switch! Resident EvilResident Evil 0, and Resident Evil 4 will each be launching on Nintendo Switch in 2019.” Capcom explains that it will “have more info soon” to announce. You can see the original tweet below:

Resident Evil has a long history on Nintendo, and it is (more often than not) the Gamecube version of Resident Evil 4 that is remembered most fondly. It has since been re-released on just about every console under the Sun, however. More recently, we’ve been able to buy it on PS4 and Xbox One. Capcom will announce at a future date what version of Resident Evil 4 will be hitting the Switch, but it should be likely that it will be the same as the most recent versions.

Both Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0 have been ported to practically every console there is, too. Again, time will tell what editions of the game come to the Switch, but they will both be in HD, at least.

Whether or not any of the three Resident Evil games coming to Switch will see physical releases is another story. Again, Capcom will announce more at a future date. All we know is that we’ll be able to play Resident Evil 4 on a handheld console for the first time in its storied history.

While the Switch is receiving some classic Resident Evil love, Capcom is busily developing a full-fat remake of Resident Evil 2 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This is due to release on January 25, 2019.
