Pokemon Let’s Go reviews are going live today, with the embargo lifting for the upcoming Nintendo Switch game. However, GameRevolution readers will have to wait a little longer to receive our final verdict on Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee, as Nintendo is providing us with our review copy on launch day.
While it’d make our lives a lot easier to receive pre-release access to every new game, the industry doesn’t always work like that. Unfortunately, for one reason or another, we’re sometimes left waiting a little while longer and are therefore unable to provide our readers with a review ahead of time, meaning that those who rely on GR to find out whether or not they should pick up a new release will need to sit tight.
Pokemon Let’s Go looks to combine the extremely accessible gameplay of Pokemon Go with the RPG elements of the portable series. An immensely popular franchise, Pokemon Let’s Go is the first new Pokemon game to lean into the style of the Niantic game, with it allowing for connectivity between the player’s Switch and their mobile device. At the time of this writing, the Pokemon Go connectivity hasn’t yet been made available in-game, so we’ll have a full rundown of how it affects Pokemon Let’s Go next week.
Though this means that our Pokemon Let’s Go review isn’t out of the gate alongside other outlets, it at least gives us some more time to spend assessing the game’s Pokemon Go connectivity, which could well be a huge factor for those invested in Niantic’s mobile game. As always, you can expect the most thorough review of Pokemon Let’s Go on GR, so keep your eyes peeled to the site next week for our verdict.
For those who can’t wait, though, the game currently sits at a Metascore of 83, with positive reviews from 21 outlets and one mixed review. Be sure to check out our reviews hub for previous GameRevolution reviews.
