A Fortnite Christmas season seven update may be on the horizon, if some fan speculation is to be believed. The battle royale game’s fanbase have reportedly uncovered a couple of secrets that may offer a hint of what’s to come in season seven. These rumors seem to lend credence to the game’s next update being a winter-themed one.
As reported by Eurogamer, Fortnite players have spotted what appears to be a giant cloud to the south of the game’s map. If Epic are anything to go by, this won’t just be for show. Further evidence of a potential snowstorm or Christmas update has come courtesy of one user on Reddit. The Redditor, who goes by the username Fifa_chicken_nuggets, suggests that the storm will be wintry in nature. This is apparently down to two factors surrounding a new robotic character skin called A.I.M.
The A.I.M outfit first turned up as a season six hunting party challenge skin, and takes the form of a robot with frost on its arms and legs. A loading screen image, also uncovered by Fifa_chicken_nuggets, shows someone in the A.I.M outfit beaming a map of Fortnite from their helmet. The image doesn’t seem too strange at first glance but, if you look closer, there’s a diamond shape over this portion of the map. It may be nothing, but it adds fuel to the fire that the storm cloud could have greater meaning in Fortnite‘s future.
The above speculation, coupled with a new winter camouflage outfit called Frostbite being made available, has led to this Christmas-themed conclusion. The Frostbite skin comes as part of the Fortnite Deep Freeze bundle that has just been released. It remains to be seen if this bundle is connected to season seven, or if it is primed to take advantage of those shopping for festive presents. If Epic officially confirms a winter-themed Fortnite update for season seven, we’ll be sure to let you know.
Fortnite is available now on Xbox One, PS4, PC, Switch, iOS, Mac, and Android.
