Sadly, a number of Valve employees have gotten the boot and will no longer be working at the company.
This news comes by way of account of engineer Jeri Ellsworth, who Tweeted, “yup. Got fired today. Time for new exciting projects.” In addition, Gamasutra is reporting that a number of other employees got canned as well, noting that this is all part of a “great cleansing” and “large decisions” at Valve.
It's always sad to see people lose their jobs, so we want to wish all those affected the best of luck in their future endeavors. That said, do you think this is all part of a restructuring to prepare for the launch of the Steam Box? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
