As February 20th draws incredibly close, more and more rumors regarding Sony's next-gen console are coming out of the woodwork. This time, The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the PlayStation 4 will be able to stream games directly to the console.

This should hardly come as a surprise, especially in light of the fact that Sony shelled out a hefty lump of cash last year for the cloud gaming service Gaikai. This alleged next-gen streaming service will allow gamers to stream PlayStation 3 games directly to their console. The outlet also notes that the system will be able to play new games on optical discs.

Could this be Sony's master workaround in dealing with backwards compatibility? Could we see this functionality extend to the PlayStation Vita as well? Hopefully all of our burning questions will be answered this coming Wednesday. In the meantime, let us know what you think of Sony's supposed digital library chock-full of streamable PS3 games in the comments below.
