A RAGE 2 Christmas trailer has been revealed and it’s positively delightful. The new trailer features a chorus singing their very own version of a classic Christmas carol in a delightfully messed-up fashion.
RAGE 2 is the upcoming sequel to 2011’s RAGE. The developers are hard at work getting the game ready for its release date in the middle of next year, but they’ve managed to take the time to put together a hilarious RAGE 2 Christmas trailer. The trailer features a chorus of people singing a twisted version of “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” It is instead titled “The 12 Days of RAGEMAS” and has swapped out the lyrics for something a little more appropriate for a terrifying wasteland. Here is but a sampling:
On the twelfth day of RAGEMAS,
The Wasteland gave to me
12 heads a splodin‘
11 mutants bashing
10 mechs a leapin’
The song continues with the same general style. The Rage 2 Christmas trailer features a comical juxtaposition between the cheerful music and lyrics combined with the crass lyrics and violent imagery. The colorful imagery and bright colors only enhance the dissonance and make it an even funnier thing to experience.
A much more open world will be a big part of RAGE 2. The game’s director recently let us know that players would have a lot more freedom to move around in the game world once they’ve gotten past the initial area at the beginning of your adventure. While the first game was developed by iD Software, the second title has had a fair more work put into it by Avalanche Studios. It’s also set to be published on Bethesda’s launcher on PC from what we’ve seen so far.
The RAGE 2 Christmas trailer is yet another entertaining holiday twist put out by someone in the industry and it’s certainly worth a watch. As for the game itself, you’ll be able to get your hands on it on May 14, 2019, for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
