Fortnite Starter Pack DLCs

Fortnite Starter Pack DLCs top PlayStation download chart

The Fortnite Starter Pack DLCs might not do much for how you perform in-game but it didn’t stop the game’s varied DLC packages from being more popular than the map packs for Call of Duty: WW2 or the various story DLC packs for Horizon Zero Dawn, Spider-Man, and much more to lead the pack in the most popular DLC for PlayStation in 2018.

While Fortnite Battle Royale is a free-to-play title, the various starter packs and other DLC can see you spending up to $150 for extras that have no bearing on your in-game performance whatsoever. It should be noted that that particular DLC pack, the Limited Edition Founder’s Pack, wasn’t among the most popular DLC packs in the PlayStation chart.

Though the game’s Deluxe Founder’s Pack, which costs $60, and the Standard Starter Pack, which is $40, both feature in the top seven of the charts for DLC in 2018m with the Starter Pack sitting at the top of the pack. Making up the spots from second to sixth are all Fortnice DLC, with the Ace Pack coming in second, the Wingman Starter Pack and Summit Striker Pack taking up third and fourth. The Standard Founder’s Pack and Frozen Legends Pack make up the fifth and sixth place in the charts. Regardless of Fortnite’s popularity, it’s surprising to see the game dominate the charts in such a manner, especially with the likes of Spider-Man and Destiny 2 releasing pretty worthwhile expansions in the latter half of 2018.

The charts for PSVR titles and most-bought games was far more varied as you’d expect. The PSVR chart saw Beat Saber run ahead of Doom VFR, Batman: Arkham VR, and Skyrim VR to take the top spot, while the terrifyingly banal Job Simulator was runner-up.

The PS4 games chart was perhaps the least surprising, with Fifa 19 taking first place, followed on by Black Ops 4, and Red Dead Redemption 2 completing the top three. Meanwhile Grand Theft Auto 5, a game which launched in 2013, somehow managed to place in at number four; we suspect that one Rockstar dev is simply buying copies of the game religiously to keep the title in the charts. We saw a couple of Sony exclusives near the top as well, with epic Norse adventure God of War placing in at fifth, while Spider-Man took sixth place in the PS4 games chart for 2018.
