The official Xbox Taiwan Facebook page has revealed the Games With Gold March 2019 lineup. The post seems to have jumped the gun on the announcement of the March titles. The posted image reveals the games will be Cobalt, Plants vs Zombies 2 Garden Warfare, Star Wars: Republic Commando, and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
The leak came ahead of the regular monthly Games With Gold announcement by Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, which was expected later today. Despite this reveal of the Games With Gold March 2019 lineup, it isn’t a guarantee these are the games you’ll be getting. The lineup can change depending on region and, as a Reddit user speculated, Cobalt is often used as a default when a game is not available in the region.
For regions that do receive these games, the availability is as follows:
- Cobalt will be available from March 1-March 31 on Xbox One.
- Star Wars: Republic Commando will be available from March 1-March 15.
- Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be available from March 16-March 31 on Xbox One and Xbox 360.
- Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 will be available from March 16-April 15 on Xbox One.
With regards to the game which will potentially replace Cobalt in other regions, Reddit users discussed what title it may be, including unconfirmed rumors the game could be Fallout 76. The lineup is a bit of a mixed bag. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance received mixed reviews for its reimagining of the Metal Gear formula. While Plants vs Zombies 2: Garden Warfare is seen as one of the few good couch co-op games available today. Star Wars: Republic Commando is an interesting dose of nostalgia considering it was first released way back in 2005.
This month’s titles include Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, Super Bomberman R, Assassin’s Creed Rogue, and Jedi Knight Jedi Academy. All except Assassin’s Creed Rogue are still available to play on the service.
