Starting off the PAX East convention with a bang, Capcom has announced that they are remaking two classics into two new downloadable titles, DuckTales Remastered and Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara which includes both Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom and Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara.
For the 1989 NES classic DuckTales, Capcom will be upgrading the 8-bit graphics with hand-drawn and animated sprites, adding a "modern twist" to the original soundtrack, and using voicework from "original Disney Character Voices talent." Players will be given a new tutorial level and can track their stats and progress with global leaderboards. Capcom and WayForward plans to release DuckTales Remastered for Xbox LIVE Arcade, PSN, and Wii U for the summer.
Meanwhile, the two arcade Dungeon & Dragons classics will be given updated HD graphics and combined into a single compilation. Up to four players can play in drop-in/drop-out online hack-'n'-slash goodness, with the added abilities to change the gameplay with new House Rules and to select spells and items using the Wii U GamePad touchscreen. Players can track their character usage and stats with the Character Visualizer, and can earn coins and level-ups by completing goals. Coins can be redeemed in the Vault for unlockables and gameplay perks.
Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara is slated for June for Xbox LIVE Arcade, PSN, Wii U, and PC for $14.99/€14.99/£11.99/1200 MSP.
