Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered

Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered rated by PEGI

A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered version appears to be on its way, following the title being rated by PEGI. The listing on PEGI has now been removed, but not before passionate Call of Duty fans managed to grab screenshots. The rating offered little in the way of details about the remaster, beyond seeming to confirm that the game won’t have a multiplayer element.

The Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered rating was spotted and captured by Charlie Intel before it was removed. The site states this is the first time the title has been rated, having not yet received a rating in the US from the ESRB. The rating was listed as 18, which all main Call of Duty games have received in Europe. The rumors about a Modern Warfare 2 remaster emerged when IGN Italia spotted a listing on Amazon.it in March of 2018. Amazon listed the game’s price at €19.99.

Activision Blizzard has focused a lot on the Modern Warfare franchise recently. Call of Duty has already remastered the first Modern Warfare title, and the sequel, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, was made available via backwards compatibility late last year. Also, we recently saw a return to the studio for Geoffrey Smith. Smith worked as lead designer on Modern Warfare 1 and 2. There’s been speculation Infinity Ward may return with a sequel to the Modern Warfare franchise later this year following a former employee stating, “you will never get Infinite Warfare 2.”

Modern Warfare or not, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick did recently confirm the next entry in the Call of Duty series would include a campaign. Call of Duty dropped the campaign for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, in favor of a multiplayer game which included a battle royale mode. Black Ops 4 received a significant update earlier this week in the form of the “Grand Heist.” The update includes a new specialist, games modes and special events.
