The Control gameplay trailer is here and we get to see a whole bunch of strange superpowers and gnarly guns in action! The trailer opens with some establishing shots of various scenery in the game and features a few creatures that certainly wouldn’t be out of place in a Silent Hill game. A wide variety of different locales are shown, from brightly colored offices to creepy darkened halls where dangerous denizens are surely lurking.
We then switch over to some action-packed scenes highlighting some of the powers and weapons available in the game. The Control gameplay trailer mainly highlights flight and telekinesis, as we’re shown these powers being used individually and in concert with one another. The telekinesis power is particularly useful, being used to shield the player, subdue enemies, and throw massive objects at a distance. We also get to see a bit of the game’s weapon customization system, although it’s mostly just messing around with menus.
The last few moments of the trailer return to showing us some more in-game locations before changing over to what appears to be a boss battle. A logo splash pops up on the screen and we’re treated to one final scene. The last scene shows our heroine grabbing a working movie projector with her powers. The projector’s film is accurately represented on the wall before it’s thrown into a bookshelf, scattering books everywhere to the horror of librarians the world over.
Control is an upcoming game from Remedy Entertainment and 505 Games where players take on the role of Jesse Faden, the newest director of the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC). The FBC is tasked with keeping a lid on supernatural phenomena. Ms. Faden arrives at the FBC headquarters only to find it in complete chaos. It’s up to her to unravel the mystery before her using her powers and a supernatural firearm inherited from the previous director.
