An Overcooked 2 Season Pass 2019 has been announced. Team17, developers of the cooking co-op title, revealed the season pass would include three DLC packs, including one that was revealed today. Campfire Cook Off is the first DLC pack and will be followed by two more throughout 2019.
The Overcooked 2 Season Pass 2019 will launch on April 18 across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The season pass will be priced at $18.99 (£14.99). Team17 disclosed the new features which would come with the Campfire Cook Off DLC at release. First off, there will be a new map. Chefs will be able to make their way along the “Trail Mix Trail” to new kitchens. This map will include 12 new levels, “from tall tree tops to rushing rivers!” Campfire Cook Off adds four news chefs to the current line-up as well as “two brand new recipes” to argue with your friends over.
Team17 mentions new game mechanics will also be included in the Campfire Cook Off DLC, but doesn’t go into detail beyond that it “will put even the best chefs to the test.” The developer does close out its announcement by saying, “We’ll be showcasing the new DLC features over the coming weeks.” So, it seems we’ll be getting a further look at the DLC’s new features ahead of release.
Overcooked 2 has been consistent with its downloadable content additions, releasing new content every couple of months. In October 2018, Team17 launched a “Surf N Turf” DLC which saw chefs venture down to the beach to tackle new cooking challenges. While the beach DLC was paid, in December 2018, Overcooked 2 saw the arrival of a free holiday DLC. The update added holiday cheers to the game, with a host of snowy and present filled maps along with Christmas-y recipes. The studio even catered to fans not satisfied with the frantic difficulty of Overcooked 2 by adding a “New Game Plus” mode.
