Phoenix Wright Steam

Phoenix Wright Steam release puts trilogy on PC in the West

The Phoenix Wright Steam release has finally arrived, putting together the first three games from the classic visual novel mystery franchise together into one convenient package. If you’ve been living under a rock, Phoenix Wright tells the tale of a Japanese lawyer serving as a defense attorney and trying to get his clients off the hook from crimes ranging from the mundane to the downright serious. Initially released in 2001, the new Phoenix Wright Steam release has finally ported some of the core games from the franchise to Steam for the first time ever in the Western world.

The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy represents 14 episodes of content which were originally spread out across three titles, beginning with 2001’s Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney for the Game Boy Advance. Subsequent versions and ports were released on the 3DS, Microsoft Windows, and probably a smart fridge somewhere. Unfortunately for Western gamers, the PC versions never really made their way west in an officially-sanctioned way. That’s changed today with the release of the original trilogy on Steam.

Here’s what you can get in the Phoenix Wright Steam bundle:

  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: The first game in the series, the titular defense attorney Phoenix Wright is hired by the Fey & Co. law firm only to find himself defending his friend Larry Butz from a murder charge. Five total cases see Mr. Wright uncovering all sorts of mysteries and intrigue including an unfortunate stint as the accused party, leading him to defend himself from some quite serious legal troubles.
  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney − Justice for AllFollowing the events of the first Ace Attorney game, Mr. Wright is assaulted and struck with amnesia. He must do his best to help four clients avoid a terrible fate.
  • Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney − Trials and TribulationsFinally, Trials and Tribulations opens with Phoenix Wright’s university days, revealing the inspiration that led to him becoming an attorney. Five devilishly difficult cases are available for players to enjoy.

In addition to the first three games, the Phoenix Wright Steam version also has an optional soundtrack available including a bunch of fantastic music from the franchise. If you’ve missed out on the Phoenix Wright games, now’s as good a time as any to try them. You can buy it for yourself on Steam at a price of $29.99 or your regional equivalent.
