Ghost Recon Wildlands’ latest update introduces The Punisher’s Jon Bernthal

It’s great to see Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands continue to see support with updates. Now, Ubisoft has one that will bring a dangerous soldier into the mix – the Punisher! Well, okay, not exactly Marvel’s character. But we do get Jon Bernthal, who portrayed the crime-fighting hero for two seasons in the Netflix series. Per the company’s blog post, Ubisoft will introduce him amidst two brand new missions in the game, coming via an Operation Oracle update on May 2.

“You will be called by Bowman to extract a Skell Tech engineer who has been arrested by Unidad. The asset has knowledge of sensitive US industrial secrets that must be protected,” the company noted in its post. “You will also meet Major Cole D. Walker, a fellow Ghost Team Leader with his own agenda.” (Bernthal will portray Walker in the new add-on content.)

You can see Cole in action in the trailer below, and get an idea of what to expect from these new missions. “During Operation Oracle, you will uncover information that will redefine loyalty. Make sure you explore thoroughly, Ghosts.”

Provided that you finished the first mission in the game, you’ll automatically see Operation Oracle available when you start up. You’ll find the operation launch point in the province of Montuyoc, with a symbol on the TacMap.

By completing these missions, you’ll unlock some new content within the game. These include the Executioner CQC Finisher, as well as a limited edition Walker Tattoo. To commemorate the launch of the new content, Ubisoft will also host a free weekend for Ghost Recon Wildlands. From May 2nd through the 5th, players will have access to all of the content from the game. This is across the board, on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. It should be available for pre-load soon.

If you haven’t jumped into the world of Wildlands yet, this is the best time to do so. The game is available now on consoles and PC.
